What are hormone replacement pellets?

When you come into Cypress Urology, your urologist prepares you for the procedure and administers anesthesia where you’ll receive the pellet insertion. Once the anesthesia takes effect, your doctor makes a small incision in your skin and places the  hormone pellets just under your skin’s surface. 

After this, your urologist wraps the treated area with a bandage, allowing time for the incision to heal. You may experience some bruising and soreness after the treatment. 

Be sure to avoid strenuous exercise, bathing the treated area, or swimming until you return to Cypress Urology and the team removes the bandage. 

Over the course of six months, the pellets will dissolve into your bloodstream over time. To experience the full benefits from hormone pellets, your urologist should insert new pellets two to four times a year.
